Conversation Types

Coral talks with students through roleplay scenarios, oral exams, vid tickets, and a 24/7 course-aware teaching assistant. There are four conversation types:

Oral Exams

Oral exams measure understanding through conversation.
Students explain ideas out loud, answer follow-up questions, and show how they think — not just what they can memorize.

There are three types you can choose from:

  • Same questions for everyone.

Roleplay

Practice real-world scenarios through conversation.

Coral plays a role and speaks with your students in realistic scenarios. You choose the setup — for example, a student pitches a startup while Coral plays a San Francisco–based investor.

Students practice in a low-pressure environment, receive instant feedback, and can be scored on how well they met the learning objectives you set.

Vid tickets

Vid Tickets turn learning into visible thinking through video conversation.n.
Teachers ask one focused question. Students record their response out loud. Once they submit, they unlock their classmates’ answers and can watch, compare perspectives, and leave thoughtful comments.

It’s like Flipgrid, but deeper.
Structured prompts. Immediate personalized AI feedback. Peer feedback built in.

Students don’t just post a video.
They engage in dialogue.
They see how others think.
They refine their own ideas.

Vid Tickets make participation active, social, and meaningful — not just another assignment.
